Indications: Rxhomeo® Apis Mellifica has marked action on cellular tissues causing oedema of skin and mucus membranes. Skin is waxy, pale and oedematous. Sensitive to touch. Oedema, either local or general. Oedematous condition of face with a bag-like puffy swelling particularly under lower eye lids which extends from right to left. Redness of the skin with burning and stinging pain. It is also well indicated for swelling after insect bites like bee stings or stings from poisonous insects. Body covered with large , elevated wheals having burning stinging and itching of the skin which is worse from heat in any form, touch and pressure. It is also helpful in boils and carbuncles having rosy hue, with oedematous condition.
Gastro-intestinal troubles also come in the range of action of Apis Mellifica. Tongue is fiery red. Thirstless in many conditions. Thirstless in ascitis (accumulation of fluid in abdominal cavity), abdomen sore, tender and sensitive to touch.
This remedy also works for intermittent fever. Chill begins at 3 p.m. with thirst. Swelling and burning of lips during entire paroxysm. There is no thirst in sweat stage.
Apis Mellifica also includes urinary problems like incontinence of urine with great irritation of the parts. Urine is scanty, comes only in drops. Much straining before urination. Scalding and stinging pain during urination. Last drop burns and smarts.
