Lycopodium is also a chief remedy for bloating of abdomen, flatulence and many stomach related complaints like colic, constipation, dyspepsia, dysentry, heartburn and indigestion. There is dryness of the mouth yet no thirst. There is constant sense of fermentation in the abdomen, immediately after a light meal. Abdomen is bloated. Canine hunger, more he eats more the craving for food. There is headache if he does not eat. There is excessive accumulation of gas and flatulence especially in the lower abdomen with loud, grumbling and rolling of flatus, but not relieved by passing flatus. There is belching with sour eructations. Sour stomach with sour vomiting, flatus, heartburn and water-brash, worse by cold drink and relieved by warm drinks. Flatulence worse in the evening from 4PM to 8 PM. Lycopodium is also useful in constipation in infants. Rectum contracts and protrudes during stool. Along with it there is developing hemorrhoids with contraction of sphincter ani.
Lycopodium is also suitable remedy for right sided renal colic. There is terrible pain along the course of right kidney and ureter with drawing and aching pain. Red sand in urine. Urine is red, dark or albuminous with strangury. Scanty urine in the day and copious and frequent at night. There is severe backache with urinary troubles relieved after urination.
Lycopodium is also useful in impotency of young men from sexual excess. Penis is small, relaxed and cold. Old men have strong desire, but imperfect erections. It also helps in prostatitis. Enlarged prostrate in old people. In females there is dryness of vagina with burning during and after coition. There is physometra or escape of flatus from the vagina.
Lycopodium also helps in sore throat due to diphtheria, tonsillitis, laryngitis and pharyngitis. Complaints start on right side and then goes to the left with constrictive feeling in the throat. Aching and drawing type of pain in the throat with brownish, red color of membrane. Pain worse after sleep, from cold drinks and from 4 to 8 PM, and better by warm drinks. Lycopodium is also useful in right sided rheumatism, sciatica and varicose veins.
