Indications: Rxhomeo® Sulphur has marked action on various skin problems like eczema, pustular acne. Sulphur is indicated in skin erruptions which are vesicular, pustular etc especially that have been treated by medicated soaps and washes, suppressed by ointments and local medication. There is dirty, filthy look of the skin with filthy odour. The skin is very sensitive to atmospheric changes. The patient has aversion to bath or being washed. There is severe itching, goes on scratching. The patient feels good to scratch but scratching is followed by severe burning, rawness and soreness of the parts. Sulphur is also good remedy for suppuration. Every little injury suppurates. Boils and abscess in summer season. The boils come in crops or single boil is succeeded by another. All the skin symptoms are worse by warmth of the bed, washing, covering and at night and better in open air, uncovering, by putting the feet out of bed.
Sulphur is also a chief remedy for various gastro-intestinal symptoms. There is weak, empty, all gone or faint feeling in the abdomen at 11 am. The patient cannot wait for lunch. There is a great desire for sweets. Alcoholism and suppression of skin conditions causes constipation. Stool is hard, knotty, dry as if burnt, large and painful. Constipation alternates with diarrhoea. Sulphur also helps in blind or bleeding piles. Anus is red and sore. Sulphur is also useful in diarrhoea caused due to suppression of skin diseases. Diarrhoea drives the patient out of bed early in the morning.
Sulphur is also indicated in menstual troubles like dismenorrhoea and menorrhagia. Menses too late, short, scanty and sometimes profuse. Menses is preceded by headache if suddenly stopped.
Sulphur is also a chief remedy for many mental conditions. The patient is a ragged philosopher. Even rags seem beautiful when patient takes fancy for it. The patient wears a paper crown, thinking he is his majesty, the king. There is great weakness of memory. Cannot find proper word during conversation. He is very selfish and has no regard for others. Indifferent and disinclined to work.
